Alexandria Restaurant Week, Summer Sidewalk Sale Announced For 2023

Two summer favorites are returning in August: Alexandria Restaurant Week and the Summer Sidewalk Sale.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Dates for two major Alexandria events in August have been announced by Visit Alexandria, the city's tourism organization.

The Alexandria Summer Sidewalk Sale, which features deep discounts from independently-owned boutiques, will happen Saturday, Aug. 12 in Old Town and Del Ray.

Alexandria Restaurant Week, an event with special menus from restaurants, will happen from Aug. 18 to 27.

Alexandria Summer Sidewalk Sale is one of the region's longest-running summer shopping events. Dozens of Alexandria boutiques will participate, offering significant discounts on summer merchandise.

More details about participating businesses and other features of the event will be announced closer to the Aug. 12 date.

Alexandria Restaurant Week is an event run by Alexandria each winter and summer. The summer restaurant week will happen over 10 days, including two weekends, with restaurants offering $25, $35 or $45 dinner menus. Restaurants around Old Town, Del Ray, Carlyle, Eisenhower Valley and the West End are expected to participate.

Participating restaurants will be announced closer to the event. In August, a digital flip book of all restaurant week menus will be available.
