Alexandria Restaurants Open For Christmas Dining, Orders In 2021

ALEXANDRIA, VA — As Christmas approaches, you may want to know which restaurants will be open for dining or takeout orders.

Whether you want to dine out with your family, preorder holiday specials or get takeout on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, Alexandria restaurants have you covered. Some restaurants may be open on Christmas Eve (Friday, Dec. 24) and Christmas Day (Saturday, Dec. 25), and some are open only on Christmas Eve. Some have holiday takeout specials.

Christmas Eve, Dec. 24

• Del Ray Cafe: Special Christmas Eve menu and Christmas Eve kids menu offered
• Brabo: Open on Christmas Eve for in-person and take-out service with breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and special holiday service from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Chadwicks: Christmas Eve brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Daniel O'Connell's Irish Restaurant & Pub: Open for in-person dining only from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with last call for drinks at 4 p.m. and closing at 5 p.m.
• Evening Star Cafe: There will be food and drink specials with hours from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the dining room and 4 p.m. to midnight in the bar.

• Junction Bakery and Bistro: Open for brunch from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Preorders must be picked up by noon.

• Magnolias on King: Order a Christmas to-go feast by 5 p.m. on Dec. 23 for pickup on Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Fontaine Bistro: In-person dining from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve
• Myron Mixon's Pitmaster Barbecue: Visit for holiday dining, catering, take-out meals and Holiday Feasts. It will be open for dining from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Dec. 24 and 25

• Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza + Tap: Lena's will be open on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to midnight and Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a Christmas menu and regular menu. Christmas to-go packages for $69 to serve four can be ordered through Dec. 21 online or by phone. Pickups will be scheduled from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Christmas Day. All orders are hot and ready to be served.
• Spice Kraft Indian Bistro: Open 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for dine-in and takeout on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Place orders for a holiday six-course veg menu until Dec. 23 for pickup on Dec. 24.
• Royal Restaurant: Open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Day. In-person dining, takeout and delivery are available.
• Ada's on the River: Enjoy a three-course meal for $69 per person. The special menu includes seared scallops or duck ragout over gnocchi, then a choice of harissa-spiced duck breast, whole roasted fish with lemon-caper butter, or wood-fired prime rib, and dessert choices of cranberry tart, chocolate-hazelnut cheesecake or a ginger and blood orange parfait.
• BARCA Pier & Wine Bar: Enjoy holiday dishes in addition to the regular menu. Specials include: family-style braised lamb shoulder; family-style roasted branzino; Catalan chickpeas; and arroz negro con mariscos.
• The Majestic: Christmas service includes a shareable Christmas Relish Tray with marinated, pickled vegetables, house-made sausage, artisan cheeses and warm Parker House rolls with smoked butter. Then choose from three options for a first course and main course, two sides to share at the table and desserts like chocolate cheesecake and the Majestic’s famous coconut cake. The price is $69 for adults and $19 for kids.
• Mia's Italian Kitchen: Enjoy a three-course comfort meal for $49 per person, starting with Venetian shrimp or fig and onion tortellini. Then choose one of three entrees, including duck Ragu with pappardelle, pan-seared sea bass or New York strip and dessert choices of chocolate covered cannoli or house-made Tuscan Christmas cake. Dinner to-go options are also available, including a lasagna package serving four for $99 or Sunday gravy package serving four for $139. To-go packages can be picked up Dec. 24 or 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food will be need to be reheated.
• Theismann’s Restaurant and Bar: Theismann’s will offer a special Christmas Day menu with house-made holiday comfort foods such as oysters Rockefeller, cranberry-glazed chicken wings; chestnut and apple soup; cider-brined turkey & fixin’s; prime rib; pecan pie; apple crumble and more.
• Vola's Dockside Grill: Enjoy a three-course menu for $49 per person, starting with lamb meatballs or Maine lobster bisque, . Then choose from pan-seared Arctic char, slow-roasted prime rib or garlic prawn linguini and dessert choices of brioche bread pudding and carrot cake.
• Cafe 44: Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
