The huge shopping event features dozens of small businesses on Super Bowl weekend.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—While the Super Bowl will dominate Sunday, Feb. 3, there's another event to look forward to a lot closer to come that weekend. The 15th annual Alexandria Warehouse Sale will happen Saturday, Feb. 2 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Westin Hotel, 400 Courthouse Square, Alexandria. Dozens of businesses from Alexandria and the region will participate, and admission is free.
Shoppers will find up to 80 percent off retail prices of items like clothing, shoes, jewelry, home furnishings and more. While some line up early to score the deals, the event has a steady flow of shoppers throughout the day. During the last few hours of the sale, shoppers can score more markdown deals.
Participating businesses will also have in-line giveaways and prizes. Patrons can also enjoy complimentary pilates and yoga classes between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., an AR Workshop Alexandria's Valentine's Themed Make & Take station from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., the Truly Spiked & Sparkling Hard Seltzer Tasting Bar, and complimentary glitter and mini braid bar from 8 a.m.-9 a.m.

Held by the Old Town Boutique District, the event is the longest running designer warehouse sale in the region and always happens before the Super Bowl. The first warehouse sale took place in 2005 in the Campagna Center and has grown in popularity.
"It's amazing how much this sale has grown and the regional popularity it has achieved over the past 15 years," said The Shoe Hive owner Elizabeth Todd, who started the sale. "In 2005, we didn't know what to expect for year one. We honestly thought it would be a one and done event with a modest turnout. That first year was insanity with folks packed into the Campagna Center."
The event is also giving away early entry into the Warehouse Sale to four lucky shoppers. The winner and a guest can access the sale a full hour before the doors open to the public. The contest ends on Jan. 31, and the winners will be notified on Feb. 1.
