Alexandria Water Taxis Added To Google Maps Directions
Anyone looking up directions on Google can see the Alexandria water taxi services as a transit option.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—The Potomac Riverboat Company, a water taxi service based in Alexandria, announced its routes are now featured as a transit options in Google Maps. Five of the routes are listed as transit in addition to Metro trains and buses.
The company says Google Maps automatically prioritizes the fastest directions. Given the DC region's reputation for horrible congestion, a 30-minute trip from Alexandria to the Wharf or 35 minutes to National Harbor could be comparable—or better—to other options during rush hours.
All you have to do is type in a location on Google Maps near the water taxi docking location, such as the Torpedo Factory or Waterfront Park. Then you put in a location near the destination, such as The Wharf DC or National Harbor Maryland. When you click on the transit icon, the water taxi route and estimated trip time show up.
