Alexandria Woman Accused Of Daycare Assaults In Fairfax County: Police
A woman running an at-home daycare in the Bailey's Crossroads area was accused of using tape to restrain children.

BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA — An Alexandria woman is facing charges for at-home daycare assaults of children, according to Fairfax County Police.
The assault reports came from a county-licensed at-home daycare at 3600 block of Paul Street in Bailey's Crossroads outside Alexandria city limits. Police believe Sumy Shah, 47, of Alexandria restrained two children with tape on multiple occasions.
Detectives charged Shah with two counts of misdemeanor assault and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Shah turned herself in on Tuesday, was held on an unsecured bond and has since been released.
