Alexandria's Market Square Garage To Get Repairs Done

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A popular parking garage in Old Town Alexandria will have upcoming renovations, restricting access to some spaces.

The renovations will happen at Market Square Garage (108 N Fairfax St, Alexandria) outside Alexandria City Hall from Monday, Nov. 13, to Friday, Nov. 24. According to the city, the parking garage will remain open during renovations, but construction areas will be closed off and limit access to some parking spaces. Not all parking spaces will be closed off at one time.

Repairs will happen in select areas of the parking garage daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. but not on Thanksgiving (Thursday, Nov. 23). Visitors may hear loud construction noise in the parking garage during the renovations.

Public transportation alternatives to get to Market Square include the DASH Bus's King Street Trolley, DASH Line 30/Old Town Circulator, DASH Line 31/Old Town Circulator, and DASH Line 33 to King St-Old Town Station . Capital Bikeshare has docking locations at Market Square/King St. and Royal St. as well as King St. and N. Pitt St.
