ALX Man Arrested, Charged After Reported Sexual Assault Of Child In Bathroom

The 43-year-old is facing up to 20 years in prison.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – An Alexandria man has been arrested in connection with a reported sexual assault of a child in a bathroom.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, officers responded to the 8100 block of Fernlake Court shortly after 7 p.m. on June 16 after reports of a sexual assault. They were told that a man had walked in on a 9-year-old boy in a bathroom stall and touched him inappropriately.

Charles Vincent Jones II, 43, of Alexandria, was identified as the suspect after an investigation involving FCPD and the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Patrol Unit.

Jones was arrested on June 17 on the 8000 block of Pantano Place in Woodlawn. He is charged with aggravated sexual battery of a victim under the age of 13 and is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Jones' next hearing will be on September 11.
