Westminster Presbyterian Church, through its Local Mission Committee, is launching a new grant program to help Alexandria area charitable organizations. The Westminster Community Grant Program represents an opportunity to both enhance support of current church partners and develop new relationships among Alexandria area non-profits.
"We are excited about this opportunity to support specific needs identified by organizations that do so much to help those with so little," says Reverend Larry R. Hayward, the church's pastor.
The Westminster Community Grant Fund is intended to provide one-time financial assistance beyond the directed funding the church has budgeted for mission. Certified tax exempt charitable organizations in the greater Alexandria area are eligible to apply. Applications for 2012 must be received by May 18, 2012. One or more grants will be awarded and the value of each grant will be between $500 and $5000.
