Arcade Game, Laser Tag Center Proposed In Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA—The Alexandria Planning Commission will consider a proposed laser tag and arcade game facility at a former bowling alley.

Doyle's Outpost, LLC filed an application to open the entertainment center at the Seminary Plaza shopping center, 4550 Kenmore Avenue. The facility would feature laser tag, arcade games, virtual reality and dining. Foods will include pizza, sandwiches, salads and desserts, while beer, wine and mixed drinks would be among beverage offerings.

Formerly the site of a bowling alley, the space has been vacant since 2005. The proposed business seeks to revitalize the shopping center and provide entertainment in the West End.

Hours would be Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-1 a.m. The entertainment will be located below grade and without windows to control noise, according to the proposal.

The planning commission will consider the proposal Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. There is no meeting in August.
