Around The World Cultural Food Festival Moves To Alexandria
The Around the World Cultural Food Festival brings together different cultures with food, performances and vendors.
ALEXANDRIA, VA ā A taste of international cuisines is coming to the Alexandria waterfront to close out July.
The 2021 Around the World Cultural Food Festival, the largest outdoor cultural food festival in the DC region, will be held Saturday, July 31 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Oronoco Bay Park. The event is free with food and drinks available to purchase.
The festival allows attendees to try traditional food from restaurant vendors as well as enjoy a diverse folk show featuring singers and dancers from countries around the world. Over 35 counties will be represented at the event. One food vendor per country will collectively provide 60 traditional food items from 10 countries. Folk dances and performances will showcase 17 countries, and there will be over 80 ethnic artisans and crafters, independent consultants, small businesses and nonprofits as exhibitors.

The food vendors will provide food representing Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Peru and Turkey and traditional performances will represent Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Cameroon, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Grenada, Hungary, India, Jamaica, Peru, Romania, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago and Turkey.
The event is being held in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Virginia Department of Health guidelines.
