Man Shot; Dozens Of Shots Heard In Old Town Alexandria
Police say a man was shot Monday night in Old Town Alexandria. A number of residents heard multiple gunshots.
ALEXANDRIA, VA—Police have confirmed a man was shot Monday night by two suspects in Old Town Alexandria. Multiple residents reported that they heard dozens of gunshots.
Police were called to the 1000 block of Queen Street for reports of gunshots around 7:35 p.m. The 23-year-old victim sustained non-life-threatening wounds and was taken to the hospital, police spokesperson Crystal Nosal told Patch over email.
The suspects fled the area and no arrests have been made. The victim knew one of the suspects, police say.

Residents reported on Twitter that they heard loud gunfire and witnessed cars and saw houses appearing to have been hit by bullets.
Rebecca Edwards told Patch she heard loud gunfire from her house near Queen Street. "My kids got so scared. They thought someone was shooting into our house," she said.

She says a neighbor and a babysitter at a home nearby witnessed two people fleeing from the scene. Some time later she found a cop outside, who urged residents to stay inside, as two suspects were at large.
No further information is available about the suspects or victim. The shooting remains an active investigation.
