BGR The Burger Joint Closes In Alexandria

The burger chain's Alexandria location closed suddenly. Nearby locations appear to remain open.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—BGR The Burger Joint has suddenly closed at 106 N. Washington Street in Old Town Alexandria.

According to the Alexandria Times, the restaurant's windows and door were covered up. The casual chain services up made-to-order burgers and sides like fries, shakes, beer and wine.

The phone line to the store appeared to be disconnected. BGR's corporate office was not immediately available for comment. There was also no mention of the closing on BGR Alexandria's Facebook page.

Nearby, the chain has locations in Arlington, Springfield, Fairfax, Tysons and DC. The Alexandria location remains listed on BGR's website.

The closing comes after another burger restaurant, BurgerFi, closed its Old Town Alexandria location last year. There was no immediate word on what will replace either restaurant.
