Big Boy Bart Is Alexandria's Adoptable Pet Of The Week

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Big boy Bart is the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria’s adoptable pet of the week.

"Bart is a handsome large-breed dog with a soft tan coat and a black muzzle," the AWLA says. Though the three-year-old is a big guy at 83 pounds, he can be a little bit shy when meeting new people, but that never lasts long. "He adores everyone he meets and appears to get along with other dogs. Bart can be very affectionate and loves being close to people. He enjoys taking in all of the attention he can get and will happily lean into you when he is ready for some well-deserved pets and scratches."

Bart likes walks around the neighborhood and hikes in the woods. He also likes to give kisses. The AWLA says Bart is on the thin side, so he’s looking for a home with good food and plenty of treats to bring him to a healthy weight.
