Bill Euille Ahead in Money Race for Alexandria Mayor
Virginia Public Access Project details amounts raised by candidates from Jan. 1-March 31.

A recent straw poll in the Alexandria mayor’s race showed former Mayor Kerry Donley ahead of opponents Mayor Bill Euille and Vice Mayor Allison Silberberg.
Who’s ahead in the money race? Here’s a look at campaign contributions to the three Democrats running for mayor, according to Virginia Public Access Project:
- Kerry Donley: $40,203
- Bill Euille: $95,879 ($85,029 of that since Jan. 1)
- Allison Silberberg: $21,345

Voter Registration Deadline
The deadline to register to vote in the June 9 Primary Election is Monday, May 18, 2015. In Alexandria, the June 9 election will be a Democratic Primary and include a citywide contest for Alexandria Mayor and a regional contest for Virginia House of Delegates, 45th District. This district includes 14 precincts on the eastern side of the city.
New Registrations
The Alexandria Office of Voter Registration and Elections offers the following voter registration methods:
- Submit the application online at https://www.vote.virginia.gov prior to midnight on May 18.
- Register in person at the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 132 North Royal Street, Suite 100 prior to 5 p.m. on May 18.
- Download an application at alexandriava.gov/Elections then print, sign and mail the completed form to the Office of Voter Registration, 132 North Royal Street, Suite 100, Alexandria, VA 22314. Applications must be postmarked on or before May 18.
The same deadlines are in effect for Virginia voters who are registered, but have moved within the City of Alexandria, or Virginia. Voters who do not update their registration records before the deadline are at risk of being ineligible to vote in this election.
Voter information cards for new or transferred registrants will be mailed within one week of the registration date.
Address Updates
Virginia registered voters who need to update their addresses may do so using any of the methods listed above, or by the following:
- Complete the form on the back of their old Voter Information Card and mail or fax it to the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 703.838.6449 (fax) prior to 5 p.m. on May 18.
- Complete a new voter registration application and fax it to the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 703.838.6449 (fax) prior to 5 p.m. on May 18.
Checking Registration
Alexandria voters who are not certain if they are registered at their current address may go to alexandriava.gov/Elections and look for “Am I Registered & Where do I Vote?” under the Voter Registration links. Voters may also call the Office of Voter Registration and Elections at 703.746.4050.
Absentee Voting and Other Election Information
- Absentee voting for this election is now in progress and will continue until 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.
- Deadlines are approaching for Independent Candidates who plan to run for Virginia State Senate, Virginia House of Delegates, Alexandria Mayor, City Council or School Board. These candidates have until 7 p.m. on June 9, to file their paperwork. For candidate bulletins, go to http://elections.virginia.gov/index.php/candidatepac-info/candidate-bulletins.
