Bistro Sancerre Opens Near King Street Metro

Bistro Sancerre specializes in French cuisine and farm-to-table ingredients.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Alexandria residents and visitors have a new fine dining option near the King Street Metro. Bistro Sancerre opens Saturday, Jan. 19. The restaurant will open to the public at 4 p.m.

Bistro Sancerre is a steak house and French restaurant from the team behind Grand Cru Wine Bar in Arlington. The bistro uses a farm-to-table approach, using local produce and fine cheeses. Diners can choose from a long list of starters, from crepinette of 72 hour beef to strudel of duck confit and wild mushroom, along with soups and salads.

Main courses cover everything from the standard filet mignon to the pan-roasted rack of venison to crispy skin North Atlantic salmon. The drink menu includes selections of wines, beers and cocktails.

The restaurant is located at 1725 Duke Street. Aside from the normal indoor tables, diners can be served on the outdoor patio near the fountain. Private dining room space with its own bar and bathrooms is available for special events.

There are entrances in the courtyard by the Metro and on Duke Street. Valet parking is available on Duke Street for $5, which is added onto the dinner bill.
