Blackwall Hitch Restaurant Opening Date Announced
Restaurant will feature an oyster bar, craft beer, views of the Potomac River and live acoustic and jazz performance by local musicians.
Waterfront eatery Blackwall Hitch is set to open its doors on Monday, June 8 at 11 a.m., the restaurant announced this morning on its Facebook page.
The new restaurant, at 5 Cameron St., takes over the old Torpedo Factory Food Pavilion, and has been hiring for all positions for their Alexandria location.

The new eatery will feature an oyster bar, craft beer, views of the Potomac River and live acoustic and jazz performance by local musicians. Take a look at the menu here (it’s possible it could be tweaked/localized for Alexandria).
The restaurant’s walls of windows bring the outside in with views of the Potomac River from all angles. The restaurant has seating for 315 on two levels as well as expansive outdoor seating for 105.

Taking advantage of its riverfront location, Blackwall Hitch offers a patio overlooking the water plus a second level deck that includes a separate bar. Designed to be sophisticated yet comfortable, Blackwall Hitch offers flexible gathering spaces with both private and semi-private dining options for special events.
A live music schedule features an eclectic mix of acoustic acts and bands.
Hours are:
- Sunday: 10 am – midnight
- Monday – Wednesday: 11 am – midnight
- Thursday – Saturday: 11 am – 2 am
- Sunday Brunch: 11 am – 3 pm (coming in July)
- Live Music: Thursday – Saturday
The general manager is Patrick Newman and the executive chef is Michael Wagner.
