After Queen Elizabeth II's Death, Book Of Condolences Provided In Alexandria
Residents can contribute to the book of condolences for the late Queen Elizabeth II in the next few days at the Athenaeum.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — As the world mourns the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, the British Officers Club of Washington D.C. is making a book of condolences available in Alexandria.
The queen died on Sept. 8, marking the end of the longest-serving monarch reign in British history. Anyone who wishes to add their thoughts to the book can stop by the Athenaeum at 201 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA.

- Wednesday, Sept. 14: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 15: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 16: noon to 4 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 17: noon to 4 p.m.
The book will be available until 4 p.m. Saturday. At that time, the Athenaeum will host a short commemoration ceremony. Anyone who wishes to speak will be able to participate.
Queen Elizabeth died at her summer home at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She was the second-longest reigning monarch in any country and longest in British history. Her son Prince Charles became king upon her death.
