Burst Sprinkler Pipe Causes Flooding Friday at Gadsby's Tavern Museum
The museum will be closed through Sunday.

A sprinkler pipe burst this afternoon at the Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, causing flooding throughout the 1785 building, according to a news release from the City of Alexandria.
The privately operated Gadsby’s Tavern Restaurant portion of the complex was not affected. While damage to the wood structure is expected, staff are following the Museum’s disaster plan in place to limit damage to the building and its collection.
The Museum will be closed through Sunday, Jan. 11.
