The days are numbered for Washington Sports Club at Bradlee Shopping Center in Alexandria where many local residents have gone the past 15 years to get in a good work out on the treadmills, ellipticals and exercise classes.
The health club, located at 3654 King St., is closing Oct. 31, according to employees. No reason was given for closing.

After 15 years of helping our members enjoy the benefits of regular exercise, we regretfully must relocate this club. If you’re not a member and you are looking to join, please consider our Clarendon club. If you are an Alexandria member, your membership has been transferred to Clarendon. For more information or questions regarding your membership, please call (703) 933-3777 and speak to a member of the Alexandria Club Team. Please accept our apology for any inconvenience this may cause.
The company is the only one in the chain in the area that is closing, employees at the health club told Patch. It will leave a nearly 20,000-square foot space open in the middle of the shopping center. Members will be able to cancel their contracts, the employee said or use other clubs.
