Chart House Unveils New 'Lunch Box,' Sandwiches

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Looking to try something new for lunch? Chart House in Old Town Alexandria not only offers incredible views of the Potomac River, they've also recently introduced new lunch items to their menu.

Chart House is located at 1 Cameron St., right on the water. The restaurant is one of nearly 30 Chart House locations across the country that for more than five decades, has been serving up delicious cuisine and spectacular views.

The Chart House concept was born on Independence Day in 1961, the brainchild of famed Hawaiian surfer Joey Cabell and U.S. Navy man Buzzy Bent. The first location was modest, with just a few tables in a converted diner. However, two principles present in 1961 remain staples of every Chart House location – great food and equally impressive views.

The Alexandria location is offering new lunch items "The Lunch Box" and three new sandwiches.

The Lunch Box offers two courses for only $18:

• Soup or salad
• Three options for the main course – House Smoked Salmon Burger, Grilled Taverna Steak Sandwich or Caprese Chicken Salad

Other new items being introduced on the lunch menu are:

• Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich on a sweet potato roll, apple & celery root slaw
• Vietnamese Banh Mi Sandwich, braised pork belly, pickled vegetables, five spice ketchup
• Grilled Garden Veggie sandwich, caramelized onion ciabatta, mozzarella cheese, and basil pesto
