City to Host 42nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Program

Community program planned for next week in Alexandria.

The City of Alexandria will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in a community program on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 7:30 p.m., according to a news release from the City. King’s birthday was Jan. 15.

The program, “Moving the Dream Forward,” will be held at the First Christian Church, 2723 King St. The annual program, presented by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Planning Committee, will include welcome remarks by Mayor William D. Euille, a keynote address by Alexandria Circuit Court Judge Nolan B. Dawkins, and music by the St. Joseph Catholic Church Gospel Choir.
