City to Open Ruthanne Lodato Memorial Playground
Public is invited to join City Council to celebrate and attend grand opening Saturday.

The public is invited to join Alexandria City Council members to celebrate and attend the grand opening ceremony of the Ruthanne Lodato Memorial Playground on Saturday, June 13, at 8:30 a.m. at the Nannie J. Lee Recreation Center, 1108 Jefferson St. The ceremony will be held rain or shine.
The park is named for Lodato, who was a wife and mother of 3, and taught music before she died in February 2014. Former Alexandria resident Charles Severance has been charged in her murder and is in jail awaiting trial.
The playground is located behind the Recreation Center and can be accessed by entering the front doors of the Center and proceeding out the back door towards the tennis courts.
