City Seeks Your Input on FY 2016 Budget Priorities

What are your priorities for our City? What is most important to you? Deadline for survey is Wednesday, Nov. 5.

As part of the Fiscal Year 2016 budget process, the City is seeking community input on the outcomes and priorities that are most important to our residents, according to a news release from the City. Here’s more about the initiative, from the release:

The City provides hundreds of programs and services to the community in an effort to achieve the goals and vision outlined in its Strategic Plan. Each year, the City develops a budget and makes tough decisions about how to best allocate resources to these programs. This year, as part of the What’s Next, Alexandria initiative, the City will seek input from the community throughout the development of the budget.

This first phase of civic engagement is an online survey that asks community members to choose the long-term priorities most important to them. The survey, which is on the What’s Next, Alexandria page, will be available through Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Results of the survey will help provide information for development of the City Manager’s proposed budget. In January, the City will host a series of meetings that will allow participants to give more specific input on how the City allocates resources.
