Owner Matt Turowski said Sunday he is offering deep discounts, up to 75 percent off, as he moves to strictly online sales from his Springfield warehouse.

Turowski said that after eight years at the location at 1006 King St., he’s closing because “retail is not what it used to be.” He also cited the cost of leasing the space in such a popular location on Old Town’s “main street.”

He said he has no idea what will take the place of his store at the location, but expects it will have to be “someone with deep pockets or a chain.”

Customers can stay in touch with the store by checking out its Facebook page; Turowski said to be on the lookout for a redesigned Web site: www.shopecl.com, which is under development. He will continue to sell furnishings from his Springfield warehouse with furniture from Germany, France, Belgium and England and other locations. Customers can purchase online and pick up in Springfield or have furniture delivered or stop by the warehouse to check out furniture in person after making an appointment.

Today (Sunday), his store on King Street will be open for one more day, until 7 p.m.
