Coronavirus: Alexandria Restaurant Partners Closes Most Eateries
The restaurant group is promoting gift card sales, with half supporting an employee relief fund during the temporary closure.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Restaurant Partners is temporarily closing all restaurants but Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap in response to the new coronavirus outbreak. The decision came after Gov. Ralph Northam's public health emergency order prohibiting restaurants, theaters and fitness centers from having more than 10 customers.
Mia's Italian Kitchen, Vola's Dockside Grill, Palette 22, The Majestic and Joe Theismann's are closed until further notice. Lena's is open for curbside pick-up and free delivery from Uber Eats.
"This closure will be a devastating hit to our team members, many of whom have become your friends, and we'd like to invite you to join us in helping them," said the restaurant group said in an email to customers.

Alexandria Restaurant Partners started an employee relief fund to help during the closures. From March 19 to the reopening, 50 percent of all gift card sales will go to the employee relief fund. In addition, gift card purchases of $25 or more will include a 20 percent bonus gift card. The gift cards are good at any Alexandria Restaurant Partners location.
In light of the governor's order for restaurants and guidance for the public to avoid gatherings of 10 or more people, open businesses are emphasizing take-out and delivery. Visit Alexandria has created a page called ALX at Home detailing how restaurants and other small businesses are operating during the new coronavirus outbreak.
