Cake Slices, Popsicles, Lollipops Top Crazy Shakes At New Alexandria Business

A new milkshake bar challenges diners to finish crazy shakes with toppings like cake slices, cookies, and popsicles.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Are you down for the challenge of finishing one of the most indulgent desserts? The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar Old Town Alexandria opened over Labor Day weekend, bringing its crazy shakes to King Street.

The business at 716 King Street specializes in crazy shakes packed with toppings like cheesecake, popsicles and brownies. As an example, the Crazy Pop of Color has Orange Swirl ice cream, colorful marshmallow, vanilla frosting, Sour Patch Kids, whipped icing, popsicle and rainbow sanding sugar. Another option is the Have Your Cake and Eat It Too with Crazy Confetti ice cream, blue marshmallow, vanilla frosting, rainbow sprinkles, cupcake, whipped icing and rainbow lollipop.

The shop even has a signature shake to celebrate Old Town Alexandria's history. The By George shake is a nod to George Washington with its cherry vanilla ice cream, cherry pie and other toppings.

Crazy shakes cost $16. The milkshake bar also serves other sweet items like non-dairy crazy shakes, classic milkshakes, crazy waffles, ice cream sandwiches, crazy Dole Whip, crazy banana split and hot fudge sundae. Traditional ice cream with a choice of toppings is also available.

The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar was first opened in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in June 2020 by Bo and Sherri Steele. With a love for all things sweet, the founders grew the business from a mom-and-pop shop into a growing franchise. Today, the franchise has 10 locations with future locations planned in Charlotte, North Carolina and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Alexandria franchisees Erin and Robert Studer also own the location in Ellicott City, Maryland.

Hours for the Old Town Alexandria location are 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
