DASH Bus Fares To Increase In Alexandria
DASH fares for one trip will increase from $1.60 to $1.75 and King Street Trolley hours will slightly change.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—The Alexandria Transit Company Board of Directors approved DASH Bus fare increases and other changes to take effect on July 1.
The cost of a one-way bus trip will jump from $1.60 to $1.75 and the monthly DASH Pass will go up from $4o to $45. The company said in a statement the changes aim to stabilize long-term finances amidst declining ridership revenues and increasing operating costs.
Other changes include a new reduced fare of $1 for senior and disabled SmarTrip users during off-peak hours. The fare applies to service before 6 a.m., 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and after 6 p.m. on weekdays as well as weekends and holidays.

T.C. Williams High School students will continue to get free rides on all DASH bus routes during the 2018-2019 school year beginning Sept. 4. DASH and Alexandria City Public Schools introduced the free ridge partnership in September 2017.
Old Town visitors and residents should expect slight adjustments to the King Street Trolley. The trolley will be in service starting at 11 a.m. instead of 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Hours for Thursday, Friday and Saturday (10:30 a.m.-midnight) will remain the same.
