Del Ray Bagel Shop Joins International Competition: Report

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Del Ray’s Bagel Uprising will compete against more than 25 bagel shops from around the world at the 2026 New York BagelFest, ALXnow reported.

The competition is scheduled for Nov. 15 at Citi Field in Queens. Bagel Uprising co-owner Chad Breckinridge told ALXnow that the Alexandria business plans to bring 500 bagels to the event after its application to compete at last year's event was denied.

Breckinridge started making bagels at his Del Ray home and selling them at the Four Mile Run Farmers Market in 2015, according to the report. He and business partner Justin Silverman opened the Mount Vernon Avenue shop in 2019 and added a Ballston location last month.
