Disability Awareness Brings Hollywood to Alexandria at USPTO
ResponsAbility, a volunteer employee group at the USPTO is hosting a screening for the documentary CinemAbility on Tues, Oct 14 at 3:30pm

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia — In observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, ResponsAbility, a volunteer employee group for disability awareness at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), will host a screening for the groundbreaking documentary CinemAbility on Tuesday, October 14 at 3:30 p.m. Written and directed by Hollywood filmmaker Jenni Gold, CinemAbility offers a detailed look at the evolution of disability in entertainment. The film is narrated and co-produced by Jane Seymour and features an ensemble cast including Jamie Foxx, Ben Affleck, Gary Sinese, and William H. Macy.
Gold, diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, has used a wheelchair since the age of seven. She went to film school at the University of Central Florida, where she received two degrees in Motion Picture Production and Radio/Television Broadcasting.
The program will be held in the Madison Auditorium (concourse level) at 600 Dulany Street in Alexandria, walking distance from the King Street Metro Station. Metered Street and Hourly Garage Parking available. Following the screening will be a Q&A with the director and a special celebrity guest. Tickets are free and open to the public, but attendees are encouraged to reserve their seats online in advance.
