Drunk Driver Hits Cop Car In Old Town Alexandria
A drunk driver tried to flee after hitting a police car on King Street just after Christmas Day.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—An Alexandria police officer had a scary encounter with a drunk driver that hit his cruiser the night after Christmas on King Street.
The drunk driver struck the vehicle around 2 a.m. Dec. 26 at King and Henry Streets, police spokesperson Crystal Nosal told Patch. Police say he fled the scene, but officers located and arrested the 39-year-old man nearby.
He was charged with DWI and hit and run.

Fortunately the officer or no one else was not seriously injured, but police hope the crash serves as a reminder to not get behind the wheel while intoxicated.
