'Escape Room Live' Coming to Alexandria
Popular entertainment trend is a mystery game that locks players in a room: They seek clues and solve puzzles to escape.
Want to star in your very own mystery? A popular game business has plans to expand and open in Old Town Alexandria according to paperwork filed with the City.
Escape Room Live plans a location on the second floor at 814 King St. Escape Room Live is described as a real-life mystery solving experience. The business will feature five to seven themed rooms, lounge areas and catering space. “Game masters” guide customers through the experience.
“Room escape games lock players in a room where they must seek clues and solve puzzles tied to a story or theme to escape before time runs out, usually in one hour,” a recent article in Newsweek says.

The game is popular and geared to families, friends, work groups and convention groups; the DC location ranks #1 on Trip Advisor (read the 279 reviews posted here) in the Fun and Games category.

- Monday-Thursday: 4-9 p.m.
- Fridays: 4-10 p.m.
- Saturdays-Sundays: Noon to 10 p.m.
