Escaped Prisoner In Stolen Car Arrested By Alexandria Police
A fugitive from Wisconsin was arrested by Alexandria Police using license plate reader technology.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A fugitive who escaped from a Wisconsin prison was arrested by Alexandria Police Friday.
Dustin Bone, 38, had escaped from the Sanger B. Powers Correctional Center, a prison in Oneida, Wisconsin, on Sept. 11. Bone had been convicted of armed robbery and had a seven-year sentence in state prison in 2016. According to the WBAY TV station, Bone was being held at a minimum security prison and had other offenses like hit-and-run and fleeing an officer. He was expected to be released on Nov. 19.
Facebook user Ileana Discua indicated Bone was the suspect in her mother's stolen vehicle. Discua wrote that her mother's Ford truck was stolen the morning of Sept. 11, the same day Bone escaped from prison.

Alexandria Police had located Bone in a stolen vehicle around 5:05 p.m. Friday. Officers used license plate reader technology to locate the stolen vehicle and arrest Bone.
"This arrest is a great example of how we use the newest technology tools in our continued effort to keep our community safe," said Alexandria Police Chief Don Hayes in a statement.

Bone is currently being held at Alexandria's William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center.
