Friends of Alexandria Archaeology (FOAA) invites you to a lecture, "The Choked Voice of a Race, at Last Unloosed: African Americans and Civil War Music," and book signing with author and archivist Christian McWhirter.
Mr. McWhirter’s focus will be on African Americans and Civil War music, a topic covered in his recently published book, “Battle Hymns: The Power and Popularity of Music in the Civil War.”
This free event is co-sponsored by the Alexandria Black History Museum.
