Fall Harvest Festival, Bounce the Mall: DC, NoVA Weekend Events

This weekend's calendar is packed with trunk-or-treat events, a Washington Capitals game, fall festivals and Halloween haunts.

WASHINGTON, DC — As Halloween gets closer, there's a mix of spooky and family-friendly fun to enjoy around Northern Virginia and DC.

If you're into the thrills and chills, there are plenty of haunted attractions to check out. Loudoun County has Scream LoCo in Leesburg and Madhunter's Madhouse in Purcellville, while Fairfax County is home to Fields of Fear in Centreville and Workhouse Haunt: Nightmare Harvest in Lorton. Prince William County has limited-time events like the Spirits of Brentsville Haunted History Trail in Bristow, The Death Trail in Dumfries and Ghost Walks: Return to the Shadows in Dumfries. If you prefer a ghost tour, visit Fredericksburg for Walking Ghost Tours and the Ghostwalk, or Alexandria for Grief and Ghost Tours at Lee-Fendall House and Alexandria Colonial Tours’ Ghost & Graveyard Tour.

Family-friendly events are also ongoing, like the Burke Nursery's Pumpkin Playground in Burke, Fall Pumpkin Harvest Festival in Bluemont, Pumpkin Village in Leesburg and Fall Fest at Reston Farm Garden Market. Other events for families this weekend only are various trunk or treat events, the Monster Mash in Sterling, Halloween Family Fun Day in Reston, Not Too Scary Haunted Trail in Purcellville, Springfield Town Center Fall Fest in Springfield and Fall Family Fun Days at the Pumpkin Patch in Stafford.

Other notable events happening this weekend include Bounce the Mall at Potomac Mills, Old Town Art Walk in Fairfax City, Fairfax, Old Town Fairfax City Fall Crawl, Fall Harvest Festival at George Washington's Mount Vernon, Washington Capitals vs. Los Angeles Kings, Washington, D.C.
