Father Of Parkland Shooting Victim To Attend Alexandria Town Hall
Fred Guttenberg, who lost his daughter Jaime in the Stoneman Douglas shooting, will speak at a town hall in Alexandria.

A parent that lost his daughter in the Parkland Florida shooting will be attending a Wednesday town hall discussing gun violence in Alexandria.
Rep. Don Beyer is hosting the forum Wednesday, March 7 from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Due to high interest from the public, the location has been moved to the auditorium at T.C. Williams High School Auditorium, 3330 King Street, Alexandria. The town hall will focus on gun reform and school safety efforts.
Among the speakers are Fred Guttenberg, whose 14-year-old daughter Jaime was one of 17 victims killed in the mass shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School, and Rep. Ted Deutch, who represents Parkland. Guttenberg has been vocal in his demand for gun control, calling on Florida Sen. Marco Rubio to take action on gun control at a televised town hall. Alexandria City Public Schools students will be speaking as well. Since the Feb. 14 Parkland shooting, students have been rallying around Stoneman Douglas students through calls for stricter gun laws and letters of support. On Feb. 27, students wore black, maroon and gold in solidarity with Stoneman Douglas and orange ribbons to protest gun violence.
Some Alexandria students are expected to participate in the March for Our Lives, the student-organized march for gun control planned for Saturday, March 24 in Washington, DC.
