Fog Advisory In Effect Monday Morning Across Northern Virginia: Weather Service

BREAKING: Dense fog may greatly reduce visibility on Monday, March 27, in parts of Virginia, the National Weather Service says.

WASHINGTON, DC — The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for the Washington, D.C., area, effective until noon on Monday, March 27. Due to dense fog, drivers may experience rapidly changing conditions and areas of limited visibility. Visibilities may be one-quarter mile or less, officials warn.

Drivers should do the following, according to the National Weather Service:

  • Use headlights
  • Reduce speed
  • Increase following distance between vehicles

The dense fog advisory applies to the District of Columbia, Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park, Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Stafford, Spotsylvania, Loudoun cities and counties, including Dale City, Manassas, Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Montclair, Reston, Herndon, Annandale, Centreville, Chantilly, McLean, Franconia, Arlington, Alexandria, Falmouth, Fredericksburg, Dahlgren, Turnbull, Leesburg, Ashburn, and Sterling.
