Free Scoops Offered At Jeni's Grand Opening In Alexandria
The grand opening will feature swag bags for the first 50 people and free ice cream.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Winter shouldn't stop us from enjoying a bit of ice cream. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, the newest ice cream shop in Old Town Alexandria, will host a grand opening with free scoops at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19.
Free ice cream will be available until 11 p.m., and the first 50 people in line will receive swag bags. RSVP on the Facebook event page.
The ice cream brand originated in Ohio and has expanded to metro areas around the U.S. Founded by Jeni Britton Bauer in 2002, Jeni's serves ice cream with whole ingredients and dairy from grass-pastured cows without any synthetic flavorings or dyes. Guests can choose from a selection of serves traditional and eclectic flavors, including boozy eggnog and other seasonal flavors. Aside from operating ice cream shops, Jeni's sells pints at select grocery store locations and online.

Jeni's Spendid Ice Creams is located at 102 South Patrick Street, the former location of Misha's Coffee. The coffee roaster moved into a new location around the corner at 917 King Street. The other Jeni's locations in the area are at Bethesda Row and 14th Street in DC.
