Glory Days Grill in 'Serious Negotiations' to Locate in Alexandria
Popular sports-themed family restaurant may be locating in City of Alexandria, a spokeswoman confirmed Monday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- And now for some non-snow news: A popular sports-themed family restaurant, Glory Days Grill, may be locating in the City of Alexandria, a spokeswoman for the company confirmed Monday.
“Nothing is final and no deal has been made, but we are in serious negotiations with the landlord at Alexandria Commons,” a spokeswoman for Glory Days Grill said.
The restaurant would take the spot where Lone Star Steakhouse was previously located at 3141 Duke St., before it closed.

“I believe there is a strong possibility of this happening, but like anything, until there’s a final agreement, it’s still up in the air,” the spokeswoman for Glory Days Grill said.

Here’s more about the restaurant:
Glory Days Grill® is an American grill and bar with a sports theme that is designed to appeal to all age groups and interests. So far, the chain counts more than 20 restaurants located throughout Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Florida.
Many locations have private banquet facilities and all feature catering services. Founded in Fairfax in 1996, Glory Days Grill has been named Best Casual Theme Restaurant, Best American Restaurant, Best Sports Bar, and has also received accolades for Best Ribs, Best Chili, Best Burger and Best Bartender.
Glory Days Grill founders, Richard Danker, Bob Garner, and Jeff Newman currently own and operate 19 Glory Days Grill restaurants in the tri-state area comprising Maryland, Virginia and West. Glory Days Grill also supports seven franchised restaurants in Richmond and Tampa, Fla.
The locations in Northern Virginia include Fairfax, Centreville, Burke, Reston, Herndon and Lorton.
Danker was voted one of SmartCEO’s Future 50 companies for the third consecutive year.
Glory Days Grill’s founding vision was to stand out in a market of sports-oriented eateries that were catering almost exclusively to men, ignoring the fact that most women and children also like a variety of sports.
“Glory Days Grill was designed to fill the void that existed in the marketplace and capture that underserved market niche,” says Danker. In accordance with that vision, Glory Days Grill strives for a family-friendly, casual dining atmosphere that can cater to both sports enthusiasts and other guests.
The restaurant rolls out five seasonal menus each year. “These seasonal menus keep our team focused on great food and provide our guests with a greater variety of choices,” Danker says. Glory Days Grill also buys produce locally whenever possible.
Another major point of differentiation has been the company’s community engagement, which includes sponsorships, fundraisers and specific marketing events. “Each restaurant sponsors at least 20 local teams each year, and those teams return for victory parties, birthdays and family functions with relatives and friends,” Danker says. “This commitment to our neighbors exists at every level of the organization, including the corporate office and each restaurant.”
