All-Clear After Hammond Middle School Evacuated For Bomb Threat
UPDATE: The building has been found safe after police investigated another 911 hang-up call.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Police gave an all-clear after Francis C. Hammond Middle School was evacuated for a bomb threat Tuesday morning.
Bomb-sniffing dogs from local and federal law enforcement helped determine the building was safe for students to return as of 11 a.m. Students had lunch at T.C. Williams High School before returning to classes at Hammond for the afternoon. Middle school buses had been rerouted to T.C. Williams High when Hammond was evacuated in the morning.
Per the school district, students will not be dismissed at T.C. Williams. Parents choosing to pick their children up may do so at Hammond after 1:30 p.m.

The school district reported the evacuation around 8:50 p.m. Alexandria Police said in a statement there have been a series of 911 hang-up calls from the schools. As with the previous calls, police did not believe the threat was credible but conducted a full investigation of the building.
The school went on lockdown twice Monday as police investigated 911 hang-up calls. No threats were found.

Police have not determined who was making the calls at this time.
