Hank's Pasta Bar To Reopen Under New Name In 2020

Will Artley, formerly of Evening Star Café and Pizzeria Orso, has been named chef of Hank & Mitzi's Italian Kitchen.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Hank's Pasta Bar, which closed in September to undergo renovations, will reopen in early 2020 under a new name at 600 Montgomery Street, Alexandria. Led by the Jamie Leeds Restaurant Group, Hank & Mitzi’s Italian Kitchen is named after Leed's parents.

According to Eater DC, the executive chef will be Will Artley, who previously worked for Evening Star Café and Pizzeria Orso. A contestant on Food Network's "Chopped" in 2012, he's also cooked at the White House.

The announcement of the upcoming restaurant said diners can expect "fresh and seasonal dishes" and classic cocktails with a local flair." Washingtonian reports that the restaurant will also have pastas, Artley's famous pizzas, antipasti, and entrees. The restaurant will be featured at The Art League's Art on Tap event Friday, Nov. 1.

The restaurant's event space and rooftop patio will likely open in the spring.

Jamie Leeds Restaurant Group runs Hank's Oyster Bar in Old Town Alexandria, Dupont Circle, Capitol Hill and The Wharf, along with Hank's Cocktail Bar above the Dupont Circle Hank's Oyster Bar. The original Hank's Oyster Bar opened in 2005 at Dupont Circle.
