Harry Potter Fan? Keep the Magic Alive at 'Science Behind Harry Potter' Event

Alexandria's Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum will host the event in honor of Harry Potter's birthday.

Love all things Harry Potter? Then you may want to set a reminder for next Wednesday. That’s when tickets go on sale for “Science Behind Harry Potter,” scheduled for 3-10 p.m. Friday, July 31 at the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum in Alexandria.

The museum is located at 107 S. Fairfax St.

The event is in honor of Harry’s birthday, when the museum explores the real world of science and medicine behind J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. The museum welcomes visitors wearing Harry Potter costumes.

  • Family tours will be held from 3-7 p.m., and will include a special take-home activity book and trivia from Alexandria’s Hooray for Books.
  • An adult social is set for 8-10 p.m., when tours will include DIY Dragon’s Blood tooth powder, light refreshments, birthday cake and special herb-infused adult beverages.

Family tours are $6 per person; tickets to the Adult Social are $30 per person. Check the ticket site on Wednesday.
