NoVA, DC Heat Advisory In Effect With 109 Feels Like Temp
A heat advisory and a hazardous weather outlook have been issued for northern Virginia and DC again for Friday.
WASHINGTON, DC — A heat advisory goes into effect Friday morning as a mix of temperatures in the upper 90s and humidity across Northern Virginia and DC will be make it feel like 105 to 109 degrees.
The National Weather Service's Baltimore-Washington office issued the heat advisory from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. High heat index values — what it feels like outdoors when heat and humidity combine — of 105 to 109 degrees are likely during the afternoon and early evening, forecasters said.
Isolated severe storms along with flash flooding are possible during the afternoon and evening on Friday through Saturday, the weather service said in a hazardous weather outlook.

Heavy rain and flooding are possible from tropical moisture Monday into Tuesday and potentially continuing into Wednesday as the remnants of what is currently tropical depression Fred move up the East Coast.
"There is an isolated risk of strong to severe storms this afternoon as well, with damaging wind gusts being the primary threat," the agency said Friday.

The advisory includes the District of Columbia, Prince William County, Manassas, Manassas Park, Fairfax County, Arlington County, Falls Church, Alexandria, Stafford County, Spotsylvania County, King George County, Fredericksburg, Fauquier County and Loudoun County.
Cities covered by the heat advisory include: Dale City, Manassas, Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Montclair, Reston, Herndon, Annandale, Centreville, Chantilly, McLean, Franconia, Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, Falmouth, Fredericksburg, Dahlgren, Warrenton, Turnbull, Purcellville, Leesburg, Ashburn, Sterling, Paw Paw, Martinsburg, Charles Town and Shepherdstown.
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued Friday for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Extreme heat and humidity conditions increase potential for heat-related illnesses like heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Residents can learn the symptoms of each heat-related illness and how to respond.
The NWS urges residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned spaces and out of the sun, check on neighbors and relatives and avoid leaving young children and pets unattended in a hot car.

Friday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Heat index values as high as 106. Light and variable wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 3am. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Saturday: A slight chance of showers before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 3pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. High near 91. Northwest wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 3am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3am. Low around 70. North wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday: A chance of showers, mainly before 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Northeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Sunday Night: A slight chance of showers before 9pm, then a slight chance of showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
