Helping Breast Cancer Survivors Gain Strength, Through Archery

Pink Bow and Arrow will hold a fundraiser Tuesday night at Diva Designer Consignment in Alexandria.

A woman who survived breast cancer is taking aim at the disease by helping survivors gain strength through the sport of archery.

Breast cancer survivor and competitive archer Doreen Rizopoulos calls her organization Pink Bow and Arrow.

The organization designed to help breast cancer survivors, is teaming up with a local retailer to hold a fundraiser Tuesday night for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, in Alexandria.

The public is invited Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. to Diva Designer Consignment, 116 S. Pitt St., in Alexandria. The owner of Diva, Cindy McCartney, is donating 10 percent of the evening’s profits to supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Pink Bow and Arrow is an organization dedicated to helping survivors of breast cancer build their strength through the art, practice and sport of archery.

“We are looking forward to an evening of sipping champagne and shopping at Diva to help the fight against breast cancer,” Rizopoulos said in an email.
