Hilton Garden Inn Opens on Prince Street in Alexandria

Relatives or friends coming to town for the National Cherry Blossom Festival? You’ve got a new hotel choice to direct them to in Old Town at 1620 Prince St.

Hilton Garden Inn, HiltonWorldwide‘s upscale yet affordable group of hotels, announced Tuesday the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Alexandria Old Town. The new hotel is owned by Carr Hospitality and is the brand’s first property in Alexandria.

The spot was once home to local landmark, the Alexandria Floral Company, which moved there in 1942 from Mount Vernon and Braddock, but closed in 2006.

“We look forward to introducing our guests to the vibrant history and modern flair of Alexandria,” said Mary Anne Russell, general manager, in a news release from the company. “Guests can experience chic dining, boutique shopping and sophisticated art galleries. The new hotel is situated two blocks from King Street Metro station. A rooftop terrace offers views stretching above the Alexandria skyline as far as the Washington Monument. Comfortable seating and wooden arbors in the terrace gardens provide guests an impressive social venue. The hotel also features a meeting room, offering more than 603 square feet of flexible meeting space. Additionally, the hotel will be LEED certified, demonstrating the property’s commitment to sustainability through water and energy efficiency, material selection, environmental health and innovation in design.

The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, a 24-hour business center with Print SpotsTM remote printing, a Precor fitness center, and a Stay Fit KitTM giving guests the opportunity to exercise in the privacy of their room.

The GardenGrille and Bar® offers a full cooked-to-order breakfast and dinner, cocktails and evening room service. The Pavilion Pantry® is open 24 hours and features a complete selection of salty snacks, sweet treats, cold beverages, and frozen, microwaveable packaged items.
