ALEXANDRIA, VA — For an 80th year, homes in Old Town Alexandria will be open for visitors to view during the annual Historic Alexandria Homes Tour.

The 80th annual tour will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests who purchase tickets will take a self-guided tour of seven homes. Highlights include a home featured in Southern Living magazine, a home with a 75-year-old fig tree and a home with an "Alexandria-centric" mural. Docents will be on site to provide information about each home.

Proceeds from the tour benefit Inova Alexandria Hospital, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary. The Historic Alexandria Homes Tour has been held since 1941 to raise funds for the hospital. It was originally held by the hospital's senior auxiliary and has been hosted by The Twig since 1997. The Twig is the junior auxiliary of the hospital and also raises funds through its thrift shop at 106 N. Columbus Street.
