Hit-And-Run Followed By Stabbing Attack Leads To Charges For ALX Man: Police
A 43-year-old Alexandria man is facing charges after police say he attacked another many twice in one night.
ALEXANDRIA, VA – An Alexandria man has been charged with malicious wounding and felony hit and run after a crash early Saturday morning was followed by a stabbing attack, police say.
According to the Alexandria Police Department, officers initially responded to the 800 block of W. Grebe Road following reports of a stabbing. Arriving at about 12:40 a.m., they found a man with life-threatening injuries, including a stab wound. He was taken to a hospital.
The preliminary police investigation indicates that the stabbing had been preceded by a hit-and-run crash sometime earlier on Mount Vernon Avenue. Witnesses were able to describe the suspect and his vehicle and give police the license plate number.

Police found and pulled over the vehicle and arrested its driver, Edvin Lopez Garin, 43, of Alexandria. He is charged with malicious wounding and felony hit and run.
