Hit-And-Run Injures Boy In Alexandria, Driver Charged

Alexandria Police arrested a driver they say left the scene of hitting a boy on Duke Street.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — After a hit-and-run with a juvenile pedestrian Sunday, Alexandria Police arrested a driver.

The crash happened around 12:26 a.m. at the intersection of Duke and Jordan Streets. Police say the juvenile boy was crossing Duke Street when a blue sedan struck him. The vehicle stopped briefly but left the scene.

The boy was taken to the hospital and is stable with serious injuries.

Alexandria Police interviewed witnesses and reviewed dashcam footage from a witness driver. That same day, police identified Earl Lucas, of Alexandria, as the suspect. He was charged with felony hit and run.
