Holiday Boat Parade of Lights Registration Now Open
Annual holiday parade will feature more than 50 decorated boats sailing across the Potomac River.

Registration is now open for the annual holiday boat “Parade of Lights,” according to Hoffman-Madison Waterfront, the developer of The Wharf in Washington, D.C.
The annual holiday parade will feature more than 50 decorated boats sailing across the Potomac River from Old Town Alexandria to Washington, D.C.
The annual holiday tradition is set for Saturday, Dec. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., with land-side events in Alexandria kicking off from 5-6 p.m., including photos with Santa and live holiday music.

This year’s event will also include free land-side events along The Wharf in D.C., including:
- The first snowfall of the holiday season
- Lighting of the Gangplank Marina Christmas Tree
- Photos with Santa Claus
- Live holiday music
- A roaring s’mores fire pit
- Gingerbread cooking decorating
- Holiday sailboat making
- A hot chocolate toast to the season
- The illumination of vessels docked at Gangplank Marina and the Capital Yacht Club
- And a water-filled salute to the DC Fireboat John Glenn
Parade participation is limited to 60 boats, and participants must pre-register at www.dcboatparade.eventbrite.com by Friday, Nov. 20. Prizes are awarded to the best-decorated boats in the Parade.

All District of Columbia Parade activities are located at 600 Water Street SW (see map below). The Parade is produced by Washington Waterfront Association and Old Dominion Boat Club, and is presented by The Wharf through the generosity of Hoffman-Madison Waterfront.
