How To Get Rid Of Christmas Trees In Alexandria
The fire department recommends disposing of your tree after Christmas or when it is dry.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — As we move away from the Christmas holiday, some residents may be looking to remove their Christmas trees.
For City of Alexandria collection customers, Christmas trees will be collected on regular collection days starting on Jan. 4. These collections will happen through the rest of January.
Trees should be placed at the curb by 6 p.m. on your collection day. All ornaments, tinsel, plastic bags and stands should be removed.

In January, the National Fire Protection Association typically encourages residents to remove their trees promptly after the holiday season. The association says Christmas trees become more flammable as they dry out. Trees should also not be placed against garages or homes.
