Huge Warehouse Sale Returns To Alexandria For 16th Year

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Alexandria Warehouse Sale, the region's longest-running warehouse sale, returns for the 16th year on Saturday, Feb. 8. The free event will happen from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westin Alexandria, 400 Courthouse Square, Alexandria.

The event was founded in 2004 by Elizabeth Todd, co-founder of the Old Town Boutique District and owner of The Shoe Hive. Since the first event took place at the Campagna Center, it has grown in popularity. Deal seekers come out in numbers to find up to 80 percent off sales from various brands of clothing, shoes, jewelry, home furnishings and more.

Some shoppers line up in the early morning hours to get the first picks of merchandise. Shoppers later in the day can score more markdown deals as retailers try to sell seasonal merchandise.

• In-line giveaways and prizes from participating boutiques;
• Mind the Mat complimentary pilates classes between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
• AR Workshop Alexandria's DIY Make & Take Station from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Make a mini wood sign and enter the raffle for the Chunky Knit Blanket Workshop (valued at $85). The raffle winner will be announced at 10 a.m.
• Button making, pencil embossing and letter writing from Penny Post
• Salon DeZen's complimentary glitter and mini braid bar from 8 a.m to 11 a.m.

Shoppers can park on Elizabeth Lane near the Westin Alexandria for $5, and the Westin will offer a shuttle from the King Street Metro beginning at 7 a.m.
